Hose-insert blast nozzles, on the other hand, are inserted directly into a suitable blast hose. Boron carbide blast nozzles are also wear parts. As wear increases, the nozzle bore may enlarge. This leads to increased air and abrasive consumption, and the blasting characteristics change. Regularly checking the diameter helps determine the economically sensible time to replace the nozzle.
