Clemco blast pots for Various Operating Durations and Tank Sizes
The Clemco blast pot lineup currently ranges from 20 to 300 liters, covering a wide variety of requirements. For mobile and shorter jobs, the Mighty Mite models SCW-1028 (20 liters) and SCW-1628 (40 liters) are available. Next in the lineup are the SCW-1638 (60 liters), the SCW-2040 (100 liters), and the SCW-2048 (140 liters). For particularly long work intervals, the SCWB-2452 (200 liters) and the SCWB-2460 (300 liters) are included in the product range.
The size of the blast pot should not be confused with the actual blasting capacity. A larger Clemco blast pot primarily offers a larger supply of abrasive media, resulting in longer intervals between refills. The blasting performance on the workpiece is largely determined by the nozzle size, working pressure, abrasive media, hose, and available compressed air.
Clemco blast pots by vessel capacity
✅ 20 and 40 liters – Mighty Mite for compact and mobile applications
✅ 60 liters – versatile mid-range model for regular blasting jobs
✅ 100 and 140 liters – longer operating intervals for professional use
✅ 200 and 300 liters – large abrasive supply for intensive applications
✅ Lid and abrasive sieves compatible with the SCW and SCWB sizes offered
Mighty Mite SCW-1028 and SCW-1628
The two Mighty Mite models are the most compact Clemco blast pots in the current product line. The 20-liter SCW-1028 is particularly appealing when compact dimensions and frequent relocation are key considerations. The 40-liter SCW-1628 offers twice the abrasive capacity, thereby reducing the frequency of refills, while remaining comparatively compact.
SCW-1638, SCW-2040, and SCW-2048
With capacities of 60, 100, and 140 liters, these models cover the typical professional range between high mobility and long operating intervals. Depending on the model, different configurations are available for the versions offered in the store. This allows the blast pot to be customized to fit the existing system and the desired operating concept.
When making a selection, the key factor is how long you plan to work without interruption. A 100- or 140-liter tank significantly reduces the number of refills compared to a compact model. On the other hand, if you frequently switch between work sites, a smaller tank offers greater flexibility.
SCWB-2452 and SCWB-2460 for large abrasive storage capacity
The SCWB models with 200- and 300-liter vessel capacities are designed for applications where long blasting times and minimal interruptions in filling are key considerations. The larger vessel capacity makes them particularly suitable for large-scale professional projects. At the same time, transportation, installation space, and the entire compressed air supply must be taken into account accordingly.
Dosing Abrasive Media and Properly Sizing Compressed Air Systems
With a Clemco blast pot, the selected feed rate affects abrasive consumption and the quality of the work. The feed rate should be adjusted so that there is sufficient abrasive in the air stream without unnecessarily overfeeding the system. The air supply is equally critical: nozzle size and operating pressure determine the required flow rate from the compressor.
A compressor that is undersized will cause the working pressure to drop during blasting. The selection of the compressor should therefore always be considered in conjunction with the nozzle, hose diameter, and effective compressor power.
Buy a Clemco blast pot and configure it to your needs
Anyone looking to purchase a Clemco blast pot should first determine the appropriate tank size and then select the right equipment, dosing system, and compressed air system. For maintenance and operation, we also carry matching lids and abrasive sieves for the SCW and SCWB blast pots we offer. This allows you to either assemble a new system or specifically upgrade an existing Clemco blast pot.
