Electrical control boxes for remote control systems of blasting systems

In electrically controlled blasting systems, electrical control boxes handle signal processing between the remote-control deadman handle and the components controlled in the blast pot. They are part of a coordinated control system and must be compatible with the existing system.

The product range includes complete electrical control units as well as matching cables and connection components. Depending on the system, they work in conjunction with electric remote control levers and valves or actuators specifically designed for this purpose.

When replacing or retrofitting equipment, the blast pot, existing control system, hand levers, power supply, and connections should be thoroughly checked. Pneumatic and electric remote controls are technically separate systems.

Correctly classify electrical controls

✅ Control box compatible with the existing blast pot system

✅ Select a remote-control deadman handle that is compatible with the control system

✅ Check cables, connectors, and power supply

✅ Do not combine electrical and pneumatic systems without a technical inspection

Electrical control boxes as part of the blast pot remote control system

Electrically controlled blasting systems require a control unit that processes the signal from the remote-control deadman handle and transmits it to the designated components on the blast pot. The electrical control box serves as the central interface between the controls, the wiring, and the actual valve control system.

An electric remote control is a complete system

A control box must not be considered in isolation. The electric remote-control deadman handle, cables, connectors, supply voltage, and controlled valves must be compatible with the specific system configuration. Therefore, when purchasing replacement parts, the existing blast pot series and the exact control system should always be identified.

The product line includes various electric control units for professional blasting systems. Matching extension cables and connection components are also available. Additional compatible control components may be added to the product line in the future without changing the basic selection criteria.

Distinction from the pneumatic remote control

Pneumatic remote controls transmit the control signal via compressed-air lines. Electrical systems, on the other hand, use electrical signal paths and a corresponding electrical control box. An electric hand lever therefore cannot simply be connected in place of a pneumatic hand lever. Modifications must be technically designed for the entire system.

Check cables and connectors

On construction sites and in workshops, cables are exposed to mechanical stress. Crushing, damaged insulation, or defective connectors can impair functionality. Therefore, before use, not only the control box but the entire connection all the way to the hand lever should be inspected.

Note the power supply and model

Electrical control systems must only be operated with the power supply specified for the respective system. When replacing, upgrading, or repairing these systems, refer to the nameplate, wiring diagram, and manufacturer’s specifications. Temporary modifications to safety-critical control systems are not recommended.

Check the following before purchasing an electrical control box

✅ Specific blast pot and control series

✅ Existing electric remote-control deadman handle

✅ Connectors and cable lengths

✅ Specified power supply

✅ Controlled valves and actuators
