Leasing & Rent-to-Own

We offer leasing and rent-to-own financing options exclusively to business owners, tradespeople, and the self-employed for selected products with a net merchandise value of €1,000 or more. Below you will find the key differences between these two financing options.

Leasing

In a lease, the product is made available to the lessee for use in exchange for regular lease payments. The lessor is responsible for accounting for the lease. The lease payments can generally be claimed as business expenses for tax purposes. These are gross payments, and value-added tax is charged throughout the entire term. At the end of the agreed-upon basic lease term, it is generally possible to purchase the product.

Hire Purchase

Hire purchase is economically equivalent to installment purchase. The product is capitalized on the hire purchaser’s balance sheet and depreciated in accordance with the official depreciation tables. Upon payment of the final hire purchase installment, ownership of the item is transferred to the hire purchaser. Value-added tax must be paid in full with the first hire purchase installment (transitory item).

Robust Construction for Abrasive Media

During abrasive blasting, compressed air and abrasive media travel through the hose at high velocity. The inner tube is therefore exposed to continuous abrasive wear.

ExtraBlast uses an abrasion-resistant inner tube specifically designed for this duty. With an average abrasion value of maximum 60 mm³ according to DIN ISO 4649:2013, it provides good service life for typical professional industrial and trade blasting applications.

The smooth internal surface supports consistent material flow and helps reduce turbulence and unnecessary flow resistance in the hose line.

Suitable for a Wide Range of Abrasive Media

Contracor ExtraBlast is designed to convey highly abrasive media, including:

  • Steel grit
  • Angular steel abrasive
  • Corundum / aluminium oxide
  • Garnet
  • Glass beads
  • Reusable mineral abrasives
  • Other dry, free-flowing abrasive media

Suitability for a specific abrasive depends not only on hardness but also on grit size, particle shape, bulk density and the design of the complete blasting system.

⚠️ Important:

The hose is intended for dry, sufficiently free-flowing abrasive media. Damp or agglomerated material can impair abrasive flow and cause blockages.

Antistatic Hose Construction

Friction during the transport of dry abrasive media can generate electrostatic charge. ExtraBlast therefore has an antistatic construction with an electrical resistance below 1 MΩ.

The antistatic design supports controlled dissipation of electrostatic charge, provided the hose is correctly integrated into the grounding and safety concept of the complete blasting system.

Hose, couplings, blasting equipment, nozzle holder and other conductive system components must be installed and grounded in accordance with the relevant manufacturer instructions.

💡 Antistatic does not automatically mean grounded:

The antistatic hose construction does not replace correct grounding and equipotential bonding of the complete blasting system. Electrical continuity and grounding must be checked during installation.

Textile Reinforcement for Pressure Resistance and Stability

Wound textile plies between the inner tube and outer cover absorb operating pressure forces and help stabilise the hose against excessive expansion.

The multilayer construction permits a maximum operating pressure of 12 bar. The stated burst pressure is 36 bar, corresponding to a safety factor of 3:1.

Burst pressure is not a permissible operating pressure. The hose must only be operated within its specified maximum working pressure.

Which Hose Size Is Right?

The inner diameter of a blast hose affects air and abrasive flow as well as pressure loss between the blasting equipment and blast nozzle. Hose diameter should therefore be matched to nozzle size, hose length and compressor capacity.

Inner diameterTypical use
13 mmCompact blasting equipment, short hose runs and smaller nozzles
19 mmMobile blasting with moderate air and abrasive demand
25 mmProfessional blast pots and medium to larger nozzles
32 mmHigh air flow, larger nozzles and longer blast-hose runs
🎯 Sizing rule of thumb:

The blast-hose inner diameter is commonly selected at approximately three to four times the nozzle bore. Longer hose runs may require a larger cross-section to limit pressure losses.

Hose Diameter and Pressure Loss

An undersized blast hose increases flow velocity and pressure loss. The pressure available at the blast nozzle can therefore fall even when the compressor and blast pot are otherwise adequately sized.

A larger inner diameter reduces flow resistance and can improve nozzle performance, especially over long hose runs. The trade-off is increased hose weight and reduced flexibility.

Select a practical balance between air flow, hose length, manoeuvrability and nozzle size.

Selecting the Roll Length

Depending on inner diameter, ExtraBlast is available in 5, 20 or 40 m rolls. Choose a length that reaches the required working area without unnecessary extensions.

Longer hose runs increase working radius but also add pressure loss. Excess hose should not be laid in tight loops during operation.

  • 📌 5 m: short connection or compact mobile system
  • 📌 20 m: typical mobile and stationary blasting applications
  • 📌 40 m: large working radius or custom hose assembly

Installing Blast Hose Couplings and Nozzle Holders

Connections to the blasting equipment and blast nozzle require couplings and nozzle holders matched to the relevant hose outer diameter.

Fittings must be suitable for the hose type, outer diameter and maximum operating pressure and must be installed with the specified fastening screws in accordance with the manufacturer instructions.

Coupled blast-hose connections must also be secured with suitable locking/safety devices. Gaskets, screws and safety components should be inspected regularly for condition and secure seating.

⚠️ Select fittings by outer diameter:

For blast hose couplings and nozzle holders, the relevant outer diameter of 27, 33, 39 or 48 mm is critical for correct selection.

🔧 Applications
  • Mobile blast pots
  • Stationary abrasive blasting systems
  • Blast cabinets
  • Blast rooms
  • Surface preparation in steelwork
  • Metal fabrication and mechanical engineering
  • Vessel and plant construction
  • Vehicle and commercial-vehicle repair
  • Corrosion-protection work
  • Removal of rust, scale and old coatings
  • Surface preparation before painting or coating
  • Blasting with steel grit, corundum or garnet

Temperature Range −30 °C to +80 °C

ExtraBlast is designed for operating temperatures from −30 °C to +80 °C, allowing use in cooler workshops and outdoor environments as well as at elevated ambient temperatures within the hose specification.

Protect the hose from additional heat sources such as hot workpieces, sparks, open flames and unsuitable chemicals.

📌 Safety and Application Notes
  • Do not exceed the maximum operating pressure of 12 bar
  • Inspect the hose for damage before each use
  • Use only compatible couplings and nozzle holders
  • Secure coupling connections with suitable safety devices
  • Do not drive over or crush the hose
  • Avoid kinks and excessively tight bend radii
  • Protect from sharp edges and hot surfaces
  • Ensure correct antistatic connection and grounding of the system
  • Replace worn or damaged hose immediately
  • Fully depressurise before maintenance

Regular Inspection and Maintenance

Blast hoses are subject to continuous internal wear from the abrasive stream. The outside may still appear intact even when wall thickness has already been reduced internally.

Inspect ExtraBlast regularly over its full length. Areas near couplings, nozzle holders, tight bends and sections dragged across the floor are often subject to increased wear.

  • Check the outer cover for cuts, cracks and abrasion
  • Feel for unusually soft or thin sections
  • Check couplings and nozzle holders for secure seating
  • Inspect fastening screws in accordance with manufacturer instructions
  • Inspect gaskets for wear
  • Check electrical continuity and grounding
  • Do not continue using heavily worn hose sections
