Hose-insert blast nozzles as a direct plug-in solution

A hose-insert blast nozzle has a different connection design than a traditional threaded blast nozzle. It is inserted directly into the designated end of the blast hose and secured mechanically with a suitable hose clamp. This eliminates the need for a traditional threaded nozzle holder. This design is compact but requires that the hose, nozzle, and fastener fit together precisely.

Consider the blast hose and hose-insert blast nozzle as a single unit

To ensure reliable installation, the inner diameter, outer diameter, and wall thickness of the blast hose must match the intended nozzle. A combination that is only approximately compatible is not suitable. The nozzle must be securely held in place, and the transition from the hose to the nozzle bore should be designed to ensure smooth flow.

The hose clamp is also part of the system. It must be suitable for the specific nozzle and the blast hose being used, and it must be checked regularly to ensure it is secure and free of wear.

Tungsten carbide or boron carbide

The product range includes hose-insert blast nozzles made of tungsten carbide and boron carbide. Tungsten carbide is robust and suitable for many professional applications. Boron carbide offers particularly high wear resistance and can provide economic advantages during long operating times and with highly abrasive media. Which variant is the better choice therefore depends on the abrasive media, operating time, and mechanical stress.

Bore diameter determines the compressed air requirement

The available hose-insert blast nozzles cover several bore diameters. As the bore diameter increases, the required air flow rate rises significantly. A larger diameter can enable higher surface coverage rates, but requires a sufficiently powerful compressor. The working pressure must remain stable under actual load.

Do not confuse these with nozzles with coarse or fine threads

Hose-type blast nozzles are not attached using 25 mm coarse thread or 50 mm fine thread. They constitute a separate plug-in design. Anyone wishing to switch from a classic screw-on nozzle to a hose-insert blast nozzle should therefore take into account the entire hose end and the necessary mounting.
