Selecting Belt-Driven Rotary Screw Compressors
Belt-driven rotary screw compressors in the current product line cover a particularly wide power range. The units range from 3 to 90 kW and, depending on the series, are available as standalone compressor units on a base frame, mounted on an air receiver, mounted on a receiver with a refrigerated air dryer, or with speed control.
The selection should be based on actual compressed air requirements. Depending on the model, operating pressures of 8, 10, or 13 bar are available. The flow rate ranges from approximately 0.38 m³/min for the smallest models to 14.7 m³/min for the most powerful systems.
For mounting on existing compressed air systems
Rotary screw compressors on a base frame are suitable when air receivers, drying systems, and other treatment equipment are already in place or are planned separately. The F Series covers 3 to 90 kW. Starting at 5.5 kW, the product line also includes models capable of up to 13 bar.
Air receivers as a compact station
The tank models combine a compressor and a compressed air storage tank. The current product line includes 270- and 500-liter configurations. The FR series ranges from 3 to 22 kW and covers flow rates up to 3.6 m³/min at 8 or 10 bar. The tank buffers fluctuations in consumption while also forming a compact installation unit.
With a refrigerated air dryer for treated compressed air
The FRD models combine a rotary screw compressor, an air receiver, and a refrigerated air dryer. These systems are a good choice when the goal is not only to generate compressed air but also to reduce its moisture content directly at the station. Here, too, the current product line ranges from 3 to 22 kW with 270- or 500-liter receivers.
Speed control with varying load
The variable-speed FV models in the product line cover a range from 30 to 90 kW. Depending on the model, they deliver approximately 4.6 to 14.7 m³/min and operate at pressure ranges of 5–8 or 5–10 bar. These models are particularly well-suited for load profiles with significantly fluctuating air demand.
Which design is right for you?
✅ Base frame for existing peripherals
✅ Air receivers for a compact storage solution
✅ Tanks + refrigerated air dryers for integrated drying
✅ Speed control with variable consumption
Consider Flow Rate and Pressure Together
A higher maximum operating pressure does not automatically mean more usable power for the application. The decisive factor is the flow rate that is actually available at the required pressure. Therefore, consumers, line losses, and the desired reserve should be factored into the design.
