Uw voordelen

āœ… Gerichte afzuiging direct bij de emissiebron

Extraction hoods for effective capture at the source

The extraction hood serves as the interface between the emission source and the extraction system. Its geometry, size, and position significantly determine how reliably smoke, dust, vapors, or aerosols are captured. A properly positioned extraction hood can therefore be more effective than simply increasing the fan’s power.

In this category, you will find

āœ” Funnel hoods for localized emission sources

āœ” Extraction panels for larger work areas

āœ” Extraction slots for linear coverage

āœ” Swivel hoods for changing work positions

āœ” Safety nets and quick couplings

āœ” Retrofitting capture elements

Hood shape and distance

Small funnel-shaped hoods provide high local containment in the immediate vicinity. Panels and extraction slots cover larger areas but generally require more air to do so. The hood should be positioned as close as possible to the source and in the natural direction of the contaminant’s movement.

Connection diameter and air flow rate

Cross-sections that are too small increase pressure loss and noise; cross-sections that are too large can result in low transport speeds when the air is laden with dust. The hood, connection, ducting, filtration unit, and fan must therefore be designed in conjunction with one another.

Typical Applications

āœ” Welding, soldering, and bonding

āœ” Grinding, Polishing, and Deburring

āœ” Mixing, dosing, and decanting processes

āœ” Machine and Process Exhaust Systems

āœ” Laboratory, testing, and training positions

Common Mistakes

āœ” Hood too far from the source

āœ” Hood positioned against the direction of fabric movement

āœ” Too large an open area with insufficient airflow

āœ” Connection cross-section not matched

āœ” Disturbing airflows caused by drafts are not taken into account

FAQ

Is a larger hood always better?
No. A larger open area usually requires more air. The key is to have a geometry that matches the source.

When is an extraction panel a good choice?
For larger or extensive emission areas.

What is an extraction slot used for?
For longer or linear emission sources.

Why is spacing so important?
The detection rate decreases very rapidly outside the hood as the distance increases.

Advice on Extraction Hoods

Information regarding the contaminant, direction of spread, source size, working distance, and available air flow rate will help with selection.
