Contracor Pressure Blast Cabins at a Glance
Contracor offers pressure blast cabinets for a variety of performance and equipment requirements. What all these systems have in common is the pressure blasting principle: The abrasive media is metered from a pressurized system into the compressed air stream and conveyed to the blast nozzle. This results in high material removal rates, making it suitable for intensive cleaning and machining tasks.
ECO-P Series
The ECO-P family is available in several configuration levels. The ECO-P-Base is the basic model without a filtration unit and may be a suitable option if a suitable external extraction system is available. The ECO-P model includes a filtration unit with manual filter cleaning. The ECO-PF and ECO-PL models offer automatic filter cleaning; depending on the variant, they also feature a rubber lining and a more robust filtration system. Pass-through openings facilitate the processing of longer workpieces.
CAB-P, CAB-PD, CAB-PT, and MBR-P
The CAB-P series combines pressure blasting technology with automatic filter cleaning and abrasive reconditioning. The CAB-PD features side door openings and rubber lining, while the CAB-PT, equipped with a mobile turntable, is designed for the convenient handling of heavier or unwieldy workpieces. The MBR-P expands the product line with another industrial pressure blast cabinet featuring a filtration unit, automatic filter cleaning, and abrasive reconditioning.
Targeted use of high removal rates
Pressure blasting is particularly useful when rust, scale, stubborn coatings, or large surfaces need to be treated quickly. However, the higher power output is not necessary for every application. For lighter cleaning or matting tasks, a suction blast system may be more cost-effective. The actual task at hand is therefore the deciding factor, not just the maximum possible blasting power.
Abrasive Reconditioning and Filtration Technology
Proper processing improves the reusability of the abrasive media by removing dust, abrasion residue, and unsuitable fine particles from the circulation system. At the same time, the filtration unit is crucial for dust collection and visibility in the work area. When used regularly, automatic filter cleaning reduces the operational workload and helps maintain more consistent extraction performance.
Which model is right for you?
✅ Base model with suitable existing external extraction system
✅ Automatic filter cleaning during frequent use
✅ Pass-through openings for longer workpieces
✅ Rubber lining for high-stress interior applications
✅ Turntable for heavier or unwieldy components
Work Area and Loading
The interior space should be larger than the dimensions of the workpiece alone. During daily operation, it must be possible to safely rotate, reposition, and access the workpiece from various angles. For long components, pass-through openings are helpful; for heavy components, a turntable can significantly simplify handling.
Compressed Air Requirements and Nozzle Size
The available compressor power ratings must match the nozzle bore size used and the desired working pressure. As the nozzle bore size increases, the air demand rises significantly. For a safe design, pressure losses in lines, treatment systems, and couplings should also be taken into account. A stable pressure under full blasting load is crucial for reproducible results.
Consider abrasive media and wear
The type of abrasive and grain size influence material removal, surface roughness, and dust generation. At the same time, the pressure blasting process places greater stress on the nozzle, hose, and interior lining. Regular inspection of wear parts helps maintain stable air consumption, blasting pattern, and system performance.
Selecting the Right Contracor Pressure Blast Cabinet
When making a selection, the workpiece size, desired surface finish, daily operating time, filter requirements, abrasive media, and available compressed air supply should all be evaluated together. We can assist you in selecting the appropriate Contracor pressure blast cabinet and in coordinating the cabinet, nozzle, abrasive media, and compressed air supply.
