Blast nozzle holder as the interface between the blast hose and the nozzle
The nozzle holder is located at the working end of the blast hose and holds the blast nozzle. This makes it one of the components that must fit the rest of the blasting system precisely, both mechanically and in terms of fluid dynamics. Two different connection sides are critical: On the hose side, the holder must match the outer diameter of the blast hose; on the nozzle side, it must match the thread of the blast nozzle being used.
25 mm and 50 mm coarse threads
Coarse threads are widely used in professional blast nozzles. The product range includes nozzle holders with 25 mm coarse threads and 50 mm coarse threads. The 25-mm system is used for correspondingly compact nozzles, while 50 mm coarse threads are found on many larger professional Venturi and specialty nozzles. The two sizes are not interchangeable.
3/4-inch and 1 1/4-inch fine thread
In addition to coarse threads, there are nozzle holders for 3/4-inch fine threads and 1 1/4-inch fine threads. Therefore, especially when purchasing replacements, decisions should not be based solely on the holder’s appearance. The existing nozzle or its connection must be clearly identified.
Note the outer diameter of the blast hose
Nozzle holders are attached to the end of the blast hose and secured there with screws. Therefore, the outer diameter of the hose is a critical selection criterion. The current product range offers holders for several hose outer diameters. The inner diameter of the blast hose, on the other hand, significantly determines the free flow cross-section and should be compatible with the entire system.
Nylon or aluminum
Depending on the model, nozzle holders are made of nylon or aluminum. Nylon is lightweight and is used in many professional holders. Aluminum is used in other connection and system variants. However, the material alone is not a selection criterion—hose size and nozzle connection remain the decisive factors.
Things to Check Before Buying a Nozzle Holder
✅ Outer diameter of the existing blast hose
✅ Thread of the blast nozzle
✅ 25 or 50 mm coarse thread or fine thread
✅ Condition of the nozzle gasket
✅ Fasteners and screws at the end of the hose
Nozzle gasket protects the connection
A matching nozzle gasket is located between the nozzle and the holder. It prevents the abrasive media stream from entering the connection area uncontrollably. A worn or missing gasket can damage the holder and the nozzle. Therefore, the gasket should always be checked when replacing a blast nozzle.
Buy blast nozzle holders compatible with the system
ABS Strahltechnik offers nozzle holders for various professional blast hoses and nozzle threads. By specifying the outer diameter of the blast hose and the nozzle connection, you can clearly identify the correct model.
