Clemco Pulsar II – compact, height-adjustable pressure blast cabinet with a 20-liter blast pot
The Clemco Pulsar II pressure blast cabinet is the smallest compact cabinet in the Pulsar series and combines a compact footprint with the significantly higher blasting performance of the pressure blasting process. The 20-liter blast pot feeds the blast nozzle directly with pressurized abrasive. Compared with a suction blast system, this produces higher abrasive velocity and greater material removal performance.
The cabinet is height-adjustable and can therefore be adapted to different operators and to seated or standing working positions. The blasting chamber measures 910 × 965 × 700 mm and the clear door opening 620 × 875 mm. This makes the Pulsar II particularly suitable for smaller workpieces and professional applications with intermittent operation.
In addition to the pressure blasting system, the complete unit includes a cyclone for abrasive recovery and a cartridge filter for dust collection. The pressure blast version offered here operates with a 6-mm boron carbide blast nozzle.

Pressure Blasting System and Operation
In pressure blasting, the abrasive is pressurized in the blast pot and conveyed together with compressed air through the blast hose to the nozzle. This gives the abrasive a higher velocity than in an injector system. The Pulsar II pressure blast cabinet is therefore suitable when powerful cleaning, rust removal or surface roughening is required within a compact footprint.
The 20-liter blast pot is matched to the compact cabinet size. The 6-mm boron carbide blast nozzle combines effective blasting performance with high wear resistance. Working pressure should always be matched to the material, abrasive, required surface roughness and workpiece geometry.
Abrasive Reconditioning and Filtration Unit
After blasting, the used abrasive is collected and processed by the cyclone. Reusable abrasive is separated from dust and worn fine particles and returned to the system. Suitable abrasive media can therefore be reused several times.
The cartridge filter removes process dust from the extracted air. A clean filter and correctly functioning filter cleaning are essential for sufficient negative pressure, good visibility and controlled cabinet operation.

Compressed-Air Requirements
Pressure blasting places high demands on the compressed-air supply. The decisive factor is the air consumption of the 6-mm nozzle at the actual working pressure. Additional compressed-air demand is generated by the control system and filter cleaning.
The compressor must continuously supply the required flow rate at operating pressure. Dry, oil-free and clean compressed air is essential for consistent abrasive metering and reliable operation.
Abrasive Media and Applications
Clemco specifies common abrasive media with a grain size below 0.8 mm for the Pulsar II. Because of the pressure blasting process, the cabinet is particularly suitable for applications requiring higher material removal than suction blasting.

Installation, Operation and Maintenance
The Pulsar II must be installed on a level, load-bearing surface. The height adjustment must be securely set. The door, filter, cyclone and maintenance areas must remain freely accessible.
Before blasting, inspect the blast pot, blast hose, nozzle, couplings, door safety switch, gloves and viewing window. The blast pot must only be operated in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and must be depressurized before maintenance work is carried out on the pressure system.
Wear parts such as the nozzle, nozzle holder and blast hose, as well as the cyclone, filter and seals, must be inspected regularly. An enlarged nozzle bore increases air consumption and can quickly use up the compressor’s reserve capacity.
